Annotation:

According to the definition, arterial hypertension is a chronic condition in which the blood pressure indicators increase steadily. Arterial hypertension is described as repeatedly observed high blood pressure readings (> 140/90mmHg). 20-30% of the adult population complains of increased blood pressure. Its prevalence increases with age and reaches 50-60% in people over 65. An increase in blood pressure that requires medical examination and treatment occurs in almost every fourth adult globally. Every third person has risk factors that increase the likelihood of developing arterial hypertension. An increase in blood pressure numbers in different forms of the disease has various reasons. It can be a disturbance of the function of the nervous system, a disturbance of metabolism, or a disturbance of the ionic balance in the tissues. In addition to the listed predisposing factors, a connection between long-term viral diseases and hypertension has been established. As a result of studying the data of the last years, the pathophysiological mechanisms that can lead to changes in blood pressure indicators in persons infected with SARS-COV-2 can be highlighted.
